About Me

I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor, specialising in women’s mental health. My private practice is based in Barnstaple and I support individuals from all across North Devon, as well as the wider UK (via online counselling sessions).

I am a friendly and pragmatic therapist with a calm and gentle approach. I pride myself on my integrity, impartiality, and – above all – compassion. I love helping people and take great joy from guiding individuals from a place of turmoil and anguish, to a place where they can flourish and thrive.

Growing up, I witnessed first-hand the devastating impact that poor mental health has on both individuals and those around them, and I have always wanted to do more to support those going through dark times. Now, as an Integrative Counsellor, I have the privilege of working with these individuals on a daily basis, forming beautiful relationships and supporting them in times of crisis. Through the therapeutic work that we do together, we are able to make changes that not only transform their lives, but also have a ripple effect on those close to them.

Qualifications and experience

I studied at Iron Mill College in Exeter and completed 400 hours of training to gain my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I have also completed a Certificate in Counselling and am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

As a BACP member I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework and these guidelines and professional standards underpin my therapy practice. I adhere to current data protection legislation, and you can download my Privacy Notice here.
Prior to moving to North Devon, I volunteered at Mothers for Mothers in Bristol, which is a charity that offers perinatal mental health support for women, birthing people, and their families. Here, I worked as a counsellor, peer support worker, and staffed their helpline.

Alongside my private practice sessions, I work at Young Devon as a Counsellor. Young Devon is a charity that enables young people to thrive, offering support with mental health and wellbeing as well as practical support regarding employment, training, and accommodation.

Before training to become a counsellor, I was a small business owner of an independent florist in Bristol. Again, this tapped into my love for helping people. Whether I was creating beautiful displays for births, marriages, or even deaths, I enjoyed being a part of a client’s story and working with them to produce a display that really meant something to them at a significant point in their life. This ability to build relationships and really take the time to understand what a client wants and needs is a skill that I have carried forward into my counselling practice.

My vision

To continue to build a thriving private practice here in North Devon, where every client feels supported, listened to, and empowered.

In the future, I hope to develop a therapy studio that allows me to incorporate my love for the great outdoors into my therapy practice. I feel strongly that being outside and connected to nature brings a sense of inner calm, and it would be fantastic to be able to offer therapy sessions alongside outdoor activities such as gardening or floristry.

Mission statement

To provide a bespoke, high-quality integrative counselling service to individuals in North Devon (and the wider UK) to empower them to successfully navigate life’s challenges and realise their full potential.
